    Darwin Applicatant: Colorado edition

Article refers to “inherent risks.” Inherent risks weren’t the problem nearly so much as poor decision making!

What kind of accuracy to expect out of a Glock subcompact?

This. I assume you’re right-handed, tending to shoot left. Grip harder with your left than you think you need to; grip less with your right than you want to. Lots of guys refer to the grip strength distribution between hands as 70/30 (weak/strong) or even 80/20. I tell myself it’s my left...

Ruger American .308 bolt action weak ejection?

What powder said. When I zoom in, that ejector looks very suspect.

    Moving to Kansas

I grew up in Winfield; my dad used to run a small business in Douglass. It's not near as bad as most of these jokers are saying!

    Seeking wisdom for teenage rifle

I'm not saying .270 is the answer, but for a comparison point I would say that my .270 kicked about the same as a Winchester 94 .30-30. One would expect the .270 to kick quite a bit more, but even a basic Rem 700 ADL with laminated stock weighed quite a bit more than that slender little 94 so...

    Weatherby Element Waterfowl

I picked up a Weatherby Element a few months ago. I have only run a few hundred rounds of light target loads through it, but it’s run like a top so far!

    Surprise! Slab Leak

Bummer! Hopefully they can sleeve the line. We've had a couple of these and they were able to sleeve the line both times. Still expensive, but at least no floor demo!

    Case trimmer recommendations

I don't have one of these for every caliber I shoot, just .223 and .308 (because they're pricey). But dang they're fast and work great. Worlds-Finest-Trimmers-c31402021

    Fictional Books That Could Happen

I read it a few years ago free online; pretty sure it was here: https://billstclair.com/Unintended-Consequences.pdf Had a few editing hiccups, but pretty good for the price!

Did we get Open Carry.. again?

I don't know, but I do notice that it's now FIREARM and not HANDGUN, so it does seem to be a broadening of firearms rights.

    Mayo, Miracle Whip, Or Dukes??

I grew up on Miracle Whip, and have abandoned it entirely for Hellman's or Duke's!

    Surveyor question

This. That is station number 20, each station marking off 100'. It is 2000' from the beginning of the area surveyed for the project extents (which may not be the same area in which you actually see dirt turned). It is not an offset marker.

    Jury Duty

I served on a jury in federal district court last fall. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Everybody on my jury was pretty decent. But if I never do it again that'll be just fine!
