Blue Hole has quite a history, and not all of it good. There are better (less crowded) places in the area to swim for free.

Spavinaw Creek is beautiful and teaming with wildlife. There's really no place on Spavinaw Creek that is "overrun with people". It starts out in Arkansas and dumps into Hudson Lake. What part of SC are you looking into?
