Welcome to OSA. I feel your pain with the hunting areas as I retired from South Dakota where they had abundant public land to hunt. I have been lucky to find a couple of leases to get on but if they are good, they are expensive.
Retreat is sounded at that time every day. It consists of the playing of the National Anthem. Before I retired, I would catch some of the young kids avoiding it. The difference is they did not put it out for all to see.
Retired from Ellsworth AFB in Rapid City SD. Lot of big mulies to the east of the Black Hills. Resident tag was easy to get back in 09 but I have heard from friends the winters have been rough on the herds, especially the antelope. Tags may be a hard draw now but it sure is beautiful up there...
