Just an FYI, you don't need your actual license to fulfil the monitored shooting activity requirement. I used the cert of completion they printed out at the CCW class the first time I ordered from the CMP, a month or so before my actual license came in. Didn't run into any problems at that time.
Looks like the second wave of IHCs will be available starting March 11th. Field Grades, Services Grades, and even some Gap Letter Service Grades. Still one per person.
thanks! I did get to take it out 2 weekends ago and was getting 5" groups @ 50yds with surplus Romanian 8mm. I think once I get better acquainted with the trigger and get some better ammo, those will tighten up considerably.
After a bunch of help figuring out what I was gifted and how to bring it back to life, here's my Czech K98 project (formerly Czech Vz.24 Questions). I think it turned out pretty well. Thanks to all who helped me out.

I got one of these : http://www.jgsales.com/military-surplus-german-k98-mauser-stock-wwii-production,-yugo-refurbished-post-war,-complete-with-metal.-p-70207.html
It was super greased up, so I cleaned it up some. Non-matching stock/handguards, with a refurb serial on the buttstock.
It's...
thanks for the reply.
turns out it's actually a post war Czech K98. I bought a late war K98 stock for it, measured the cleaning rod channel, and ordered a 12 1/2" rod. It's almost back together and looking good. I'll post some pics of the journey next week when the rest of my parts arrive.
I received my late war stamped trigger guard and need some info on what I need to get to complete it.
I'm assuming a stamped floorplate, floorplate catch, and floorplate catch spring?

Also, I measured the cleaning rod cavity at 12" just to below the front site...
thanks. I've already got the stock and am working on bringing it back to life. it was super caked with cosmo. other parts should be here by middle of next week. I'll post some pics when it's finished.
btw, what length cleaning rod should I be looking for? I've seen 10/12/14 inches. the...
thanks, I think I got it sorted out with the help of another forum.
We identified it as a late or post-war Czech 98k. Not the Vz 24 I originally thought it was. The barrel has the "dot" shield and "45", a Czech lion proof, and what I believe is the remnants of a Waffenamt eagle, as well. My...
the good fellas over at ar15.com helped me out with this one.
Looks like it's a late or post-war 98k made in the dot factory in CZ.
I'm going to get it back to looking like this one (from an ar15.com user).
I was recently gifted what I believe is a bubba'd Czech Vz.24 (my first mauser) and am looking to correct it a bit.
It's in what I believe to be a cut down k98 stock because of the large butt plate and the barrel band, but I'm not a mauser specialist. No handguard.
The rifle was scrubbed of...
Mine was delivered today. It's a very clean 1927 Tula. The import mark is under the barrel and very discreet. I'm very pleased, but wish I would've jumped on the C&R wagon back when they were under $100!.
I've been chomping at the bit to use my 03 FFL for a while. Finally did last night. Hoping to get a Tula to match my Tula Mosin. From the description, looks like most are 1920's manufacture so it's looking good.
