To say this is not a semi auto ban- is s half truth at best.. all “ assault weapons” bills are semi auto bans- how extreme, and what percentage it bans- depends on their definition. Each of these bills has its own made up definition of what “ assault weapon” means- in this case they include any...
Ive handled and shot several glock 26/27’s, and have yet to shoot one that wont group in about 3 inches or better off the bench at 25 yards. ( pretty much ever gen 3 of the other models will also group in 3”, and gen 4’s are often as tight as 2”@25yds.. but what the gun is mechanically capable...
I would lean towards 115 or 124 gr.. there are gel tests available everywhere, do easy to see how the ammo you csn find “ supposedly” performs. Im a big fan of the solid copper barnes pistol bullet, and its loaded by a couple different places. I’ve shot problem critters with plain winchester...
Used and “ expired” soft vests always have value.. i dont think ive ever seen a test of an “ expired” vest that failed with a rated caliber. I have one i bought at a surplus store. Level 2 stops most common pistol calibers. ( bear in mind the manufacturer wants agencies to buy new vests every...
I dont know man, when the world gets worse lots of folks will prob trade you all kinds of stuff for smokes. Its not up there with alcohol for trade goods, but still..
As to the barnes bullets in .308/ .30-06.. i would go with 150 grain. They definitely penetrate deeper than the same weight in a conventional bullet. Our last 2 elk have been pass- throughs with barnes 150’s out of the .308.
So the way i see it- in times of unrest, riots, craziness- your greatest threat may be Johnny methhead and his buddies trying to take your supplies, etc.. in which case a 3a soft vest ( which has much better coverage) and will stop pistol, .22 rifle, shotgun- may be a better investment than a...
Between mine and one owned by friends i hunt/ shoot with- which is a sample of 4 or 5, all of the ar-10’s ive seen from psa have been functional, with decent ( 1.5 moa or better) accuracy. Experience with their ar-15 types has all been positive as well.
They made a “ 358 blackout”, they just named it .350 legend because they thought that was a much cooler name- and its probably for every .300 blk purpose than .300.. ( though i would have liked to see .357 bullets rather than .355..)
I think a lack of “ instant knockdown” is common with all the lower velocity (.30-30 speeds and on down), but as long as it consistently exits, does a good amount of internal damage- the blood trails are usually short and easy to follow. ( the .50 muzz with the .45 sabot xtp or similar bullet...
My first question would be what ammo have you been feeding the .223? With solid copper barnes 62gr we have consistently had ( short) blood trails. They nearly always exit. ( we’ve had one out of eight that didnt exit, and it was a frontal/ lengthwise shot)
