    Casa Bonita started in OKC

OKC was my first, way back. I remember the flag being the coolest part! Quite a few years later got to visit Tulsa when I 'think' it was the last in OK. It was definitely showing its age. When I lived in Lakewood I was able to go see that one and watch the divers. Very nostalgic to eat there...

    First 1911

Never owned a 1911 and don't know anyone who does, maybe because I don't have friends but that's another story. HA. I rented a not taken care of Springfield RO Compact and was very surprised at the feel and accuracy only a couple of mags in. Sad to say I had tighter groups than with my carry HK...

    Any Old Colt 1911 Fans?

I don't own one. They seem to be pretty expensive but this year I've started keeping my eyes open because I think I need one. I like my Glock 30 but I don't love it.

    45 acp taper

Took me a couple days to get one shipped in from the tall people who protect that river... Didn't get out to our farm to check on things until Saturday and took a box with me I'd already made trying out a few loads for the new 230gr I'm switching to. Loading fresh, using Hornady only for seating...

    45 acp taper

Sorry, the Snattlerake description is pretty accurate. The expansion die does but a bit of flare at the top and I'm doing taper to try to get back to straight. If you look close, you can definitely see the brass expansion where the 45 has been pushed into it. With that in mind, the 45 is the...

    45 acp taper

Sizer first to reset the brass. Then the expanding die, which I adjust down just enough to give a bit of expansion (or bell) to get the opening about 1/1000 above the 45 size I'm loading. The seating die is supposed to also taper but I first seat with it, then back the seating screw up and crank...

Browning BPT 45 ACP ammo ?

After a few tumbles with my SS pins the black is more or less silver/black now. Think they are on about their 5th reload pass through but work good for reloading. They do look pretty nice with the 185g JHP from Hornady in them loaded fairly hot. My other nik ones have held up better I think...

    45 acp taper

Didn't want to call it crimp and start something, HA! My Hornady custom grade for 45acp has the sizer, expander to put some bell (I use 1/1000 more than the RN measures) to help seating, and then the bullet seater/taper. I've always been told to seat them, then come back and taper them to have...

What Ammo in Your Carry Gun or Guns?

G,R,G,R...etc. Yeah I'm wrong to load every other bullet in one mag but one penetrates, one tears stuff up and tests show it penetrates. Tests are test so that why there are also GoldDots, lol. Gold Dot 124 +p Ruger ARX 80 +p (that one the comes through like a little blender Do the same for my...

    Cleaning brass with SS media

I found those same gold separators a while back. Bottom one seems to like hiding pins in between the plastic and the mesh. Grr. They also just fit my stainless steel mixing bowl I typically rinse in after tumbling. My only complaint is that certain cases (223 for example) they really like to get...

    6.5 creedmoor brass prep etc.

I have some 140g SST still if you want a couple dozen. Too small of a group to interest you I'd expect but about all I have left. I like them and they have a good BC as well but as you were saying the 140 vs 129 or 123 isn't really worth the game difference/effort and shoot a bit less flat if...

Basic distance shooting education in OK?

I will read up on what the Appleseed is about. My creedmoor is a bit on the heavy to be shooting standing up off the shoulder for very much. I didn't get it to stalk Bambi or Wilbur. On my little sandbag it's comfortable at bench of course. Haven't looked at bipods. Basic longer x-bolt, nothing...

Basic distance shooting education in OK?

Beginner level. 100 to 500 yards maybe? Someone so new to rifle shooting probably has no business going down to Badlands to shoot 1000 yds I think for their first class but what do i know. Anything recommended to get knowledge and feet wet to learn how and enjoy some distance shooting as a...

    Okc tactical

length of this thread and relevance to the question aside... Depends on what training and level, right? I sent my wife and daughter on separate occasions to the guys with okc tact for a couple hours of solid handgun basics. Would gladly recommend to another family member if i had any. Decent...

    Leverevolution for 30-30

I was looking to start getting supplies to reload 30-30 for target shooting/practice. I have a weird question that I can't seem to find information on. Many cartridges can be have brass formed from something more readily available or less expensive (like making 300 aac). Is there any other...

Banner Gun Range ------- Harry Retired

There is enough brass and stuff on the ground you could tumble it in concrete sized mixers and make a paved walkway up to the place if someone set it in some sort of clear gel like paving. I kinda liked when I went a couple times last year. And we certainly COULD use a respectable outdoor range...

    OKC Metro Eat-N-Shoot - March 18

Is the paper at like 5 yards so us old people can see it to shoot at it? Do they count 'dispersion' grouping where I can't hit the center but spread them out 'on purpose' to maximize soft damage???

    DIY Skips Annealing Machine

My wife won't let me put the carboy in the room with the reloading bench. Says is 'sets the wrong precedence'. So I put a couple gallons on the kitchen counter instead. One day you'll have to share what went into them???

    Starting NFA Trust

Forgive me coming into this nice thread late in the game. Had to start somewhere. This is the same process (Set up a trust) that would be used in Oklahoma in order to purchase and possess a Short Barrel Rifle (SBR) like a 10.5" AR upper for 300aac right? I've about come to the conclusion that it...

    Brass annealing

Parts can be had for about $50 from Amazon less the fancy box. Timer, motor, prop and power are pretty much it and then creative application of these to case as desired.
