MY NAME IS VEARL HUGHES I AM A MEMBER OF THE OKIE SHOOTERS. I HAVE LOST MY COPY OF THE RANGE GATE COMBINATION CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH THE CORRECT COMBINATION ?
I agree on the need to anneal straight wall pistol cases. Thought that I would post this for ones who want to anneal their rifle cases. I tried the deep socket method. Didn't work for me. To slow and I felt like a cheap skate redneck.
Just bought an annealing machine from Cartridge Brass Annealing Enterprise Services.
Paid $105 for it. Did about 250 cases. Everything looked good when I finished. Annealed both my 30-06 cases and my 243 cases.
This machine will do pistol cases as well as rifle cases. Just buy the adapter to do...
I JUST RECENTLY BOUGHT A FRANKFORD CASE PREP CENTER. REALLY LIKE MINE. CUTS DOWN ON THE TIME SPENT, PLUS IT SAVED MY FINGERS FROM HURTING WITH THE OLD LEE TRIMMER.
Got tired of trimming, de-burring and such with my brass by hand. So...I bit the bullet and bought myself a Frankfort case prep center. After watching a friend use his, I decided that the time as come for me to get one.
Does anyone else use one of these?
He bought a used Savage Axis XP in 243 cal. The former owner really kept it cleaned and oiled.
Did notice that the cast bullets that I shoot in my rifle are to long for his Savage. We made up some dummy rounds and found the right seating depth and O.A.L. length that will fit his rifle.
Swampratt....
For the .243 ,I'm using unique powder at 10 grains. Bullets from my mold cast a weight of 101 grains. Approx: 1600 ft per sec.
For my 30-06, I use unique powder at 16 grains. Bullets from my mold weigh 178 grains. Approx: 1650 ft per sec.
Having to re-sight my .243 rifle. Had some old bullets from earlier this year. So off to the range I went.
Had enough to sight into the 25 yd. and then moved out to the 50 yd line. This is what kind of group I got at 50 yds. All of the rounds shot were mixed brass and cast bullets were not...
Thought I would post a picture of my CVA .243 Elite Stalker. Was wonder if anyone else shoots these single shot rifles. This one is deadly. Shooting both cast and jacketed bullets equally well.
Pictures of the Okie Shooters Club at Luther, Okla are far and few between.
Did a search on GOOGLE EARTH and saved these two pictures.
Seems to be a nice range from what I can see.
Hello everyone,
Thought that I would get some opinions on the Tipton gun vise.
Who has one? How well does it work? Is it worth buying?
Saw one at Acadamy for $ 100.
