I just acquired this model 290 in a bundle of things I bought. I figure I didn't pay more than $100 for it. Not scratch on it. I was told and it appears that there hasn't been fired. It's in such a remarkable condition I'm really hesitant to put any rounds thru it.
I have had a few of there barrels, .556 and 350 legend, also a 9mm barrel for a glock 19. All seemed to be of great quality atleast in my non expert opinion. I just ordered there 10/22 barrel, black 16.5 inch threaded, straight fluted bull barrel. It's going on a Midwest industries chassis...
I had a browning silver hunter for a number of years and never had a problem with it. I bought it when they first hit the market.. Shot alot of sporting clays using it.
Thats what I did with the wife's. She has a ballistic advantage barrel in 5.56 and I just installed gas block backward so the gas port is blocked, works fine. I may replace the barrel one day with a cmmg .22lr barrel cause she will never convert it back. She loves this rifle so much she gave...
I built 2 ar15's to use these in for my wife and her sister. One uses the bravo kit that you use in a standard ar the other is a dedicated kit that you use with a dedicated 22lr cmmg barrel. I used the bore buddy in both and a charge handle insert in one, the other with the .22lr barrel has no...
There is an insert available that fits in the groove of a standard milspec charge handle, what that does (also the plastic cmmg charge handle does ) is help keep the gases from the gas tube from traveling down that groove and in to your eye.
That's great, give it a try. It's not difficult at all. I did mine with a dremel, file and an x-acto knife. I have been a machinist for the last 35 years and didn't feel the need for anything else. Pay close attention to areas that can interfere with the recoil spring. That's where most people...
Really good shooting. I'm also a vortex fan (and leupold) . I have 1-6 strike eagle , 3-18 strike eagle and 2-7 crossfire 2. Except for being damage in shipping which vortex replaced thay have been great.
Former marine (1978-1985). I'm definitely AR slanted .223, .458, 6.5 grendel. Just got into reloading rifle, but have reloaded shotgun on and off since I was a kid. These days I'm just having fun building and putting holes in paper.
I have done one, polymer 80v2. Based on the glock 17. Except for some issues with magpul magazines feeding steel case (they hang up in the mag itself) it has performed flawlessly so far with approx 1500 rounds thru it. As far as why would some one build one ? for me its all about the DIY...
