A couple of rough S&Ws from an auction. Top one is a Model 19 that I did a square to round butt conversion. Brownells used to sell a jig for this but I guess it’s not as popular anymore. So I performed first cut with a cutoff wheel and final shaping with a Dotco. Had these extra SSR grips that I...
I’ve always heard it is not prudent to dry fire O/Us or side by sides due to if the firing pin is damaged it can be a nightmare to replace. I guess that they are carrying that practice over to all shotguns. I’m not worried about any other shotgun, rifle or handgun except old .22s that can peen...
Yes, I’ve had one for a couple of months now. Immediately swapped magazine adapter to Glock. This is not a cheesy adapter. It is nice solid box. Took less than 5 mins.
Stock: Very solid and stout. Seems as though it would take a lot of abuse. On the heavy side, though.
Trigger: Pleasantly...
Just watched the video above. Kiril's class is NOTHING like this. You will learn the Russian method of sight adjustment and ballistics which is different from American method. By the end of the day every student was hitting steel at 300 yards with open sights.
I took this class at USSA in Tulsa. http://www.recoilweb.com/kalashnikovs-in-tulsa-the-pravda-group-51181.html
An AK basics class taught by Russian Kiril Gromov. Awesome class. I have always liked AKs but had some of the same misconceptions as everyone else. By the end of the class, I'm not so...
Recheck that thread pitch. Most ring screws are 8-40 and base screws 6-48. Not going to find those in the hardware store but readily available from Midway or Brownells. Personally I like Leupold torx screws.
Well, the proper use of your and you're would be a good start. Proper usage examples would be: "I shot your giraffe." and "You're a savage giraffe killer."
A little more education on the topic here. A typical giraffe costs $3500 to harvest. In addition to meat provided to locals, that's $3500 more pumped into a struggling African nation. And these animals are not just shot willy nilly. They are managed to a greater extent than animals here...
Contrary to such popular belief, Oklahoma's economy does not hinge on the oil industry. Those that believe differently don't know recent history. I'm 45 right now and have lived in OK all my life. When I was a kid all of my relatives in West Texas were living the high life from oil. My...
When you work in an industry that has been plagued with layoffs, pay concessions, outsourcing to foreign countries, etc. for the last 15 years due to high fuel prices the lower prices now are a welcome change.
As for life outside of work low prices have allowed me to take trips that I had to...
I hate to ruin it for you but I drove past a "Street Outlaws" filming a few weeks ago on my way to work at 10:00 p.m. Road was blocked off by Tulsa PD, EMSA units on scene, light towers everywhere, concession trailer, RVs, etc. The length of their starting point to shutdown was about 1/8 mile...
