I have done many of my rifles with pine tar but I use a heat gun to thin it as I apply it on my stock. Then I wipe
the excess off & reheat over again. After it has set over night I come back & wipe the stock down with turpentine.
I think both ways work very good. The Finn’s have used pine tar...
I load a lot of black powder cartridges. I love shooting it & a lot easier also. I cast my own lead
& make my own BP. Cheap & enjoyable shooting. If any of you want to get into it just PM me.

I remember buying spam can surplus ammo for $70 a can. Less than 10 cent a shot. Now 50cents
a shot. Before 100 shots cost $10 now 100 shots $50. Glade I shoot a lot of black powder. I make
my own BP for around $3 a lb. I cast my own balls & bullets but do buy the caps. A lot cheaper
and as much...
I like the looks & feel of the Colts also, but the Remeys are & were better even in
the day.Remeys sights are much better.
I got mine yesterday wiped the oil off, loaded it & shot a milk jug 6 times
out of 6 at 25 yards. Not bad for a cap & ball out of the box.
No they have the steel frame Remys on sale for $189.These are some very
nice guns.Just buy the gun, & not the access kit.You can buy that stuff
here at home cheaper.:urwelcome:

I just bought a 1858 Army Remy from Carbelas. They have the best deal going right now at $189.The last Cap & Ball revolver I bought was a 44 colt Army &
that was years back.
The Pietta reproductions are soooooooooooo much better made now then
they used to be.Get one you will love it...
Who said it can't be 5 days?I bought a SMLE Enfield a few weeks back &
watched them call in.
That was a Monday & it was sat day before I could pick it up.I can't tell
you how many guns I have bought in the past 40 years of my life,& never
once did I have to wait.
I think maybe it's this...
Man you called it up to a tee.I went in there today & it's as you said. The
Ole man was cool & the big guy was not to bad, but the guy that works
on gun's WELL enough said.
Why is it most gun shops are that way? They love to take your money but
they act as they don't want to be there.:violin:
This is one funny thread.75% of the people that posted don't even own one
but there quoting what they have read.preokc post the best of all above.Buy
one with out scope & get a POSP 8X42B fixed eight power.
You will not pay any if not just a little more for a stonger power.Buy one, I
take...
I want to buy a spotting scope, but don't want to break the bank.I have
a old one that I used for black powder, it's 20x40 power but just does
not cut it at 100 yd's or so.
What power would you think I would need at 100 yards & what price should
I expect to pay?:uhh:
Why & when will .380 ammo get back to were it was.I don't understand why
.380 ammo took such a hard hit over some other cal.s.I mean before Obama
it was everywhere cheap.
I know the whole ammo industry went south, but most cal have come back some what to normal. Why .380 ???????????/:bye:
Russian Makarov .380.This is one GREAT hand gun.I have never had one
jam in all the years I have owned it.Shoot as good as any I have ever shoot.
