Slightly related, I can't say enough good things about the Gasbuster charging handle. Just put one of those on my suppressed AR and it made a night and day difference in the shooting experience, and seems a little cleaner, too.

Decibels are a logarithmic unit of measurement. When you're talking about something that's already quiet, 6dB is quite a lot. But I see what you're saying and it's still a good point as to their marketing... schemes. lol

The pic on the front page of that site.. shows the dampener and most of the barrel wet. Did he dip it? Or is that just for dramatic effect?

Thanks ez, that actually sounds like sound advice. @kdlong, it wasn't really a matter of brake performance so much as wanting a QD brake. Although I've heard that the VTR rifles with that brake are loud loud loud.

I supposed I could just call a shop and ask, but I figured I'd hit up OSA's collective experience. Anyone know if you can get a VTR's existing slotted brake chopped off and the barrel threaded for a different brake? I don't know if the triangular barrel would pose a problem for the shop or...

The problem in that case was the guy used some software to generate his paperwork and it wasn't correct. The above mentioned people (MAS and the Maj) deal with these things daily and in the state of Oklahoma, so you're actually a lot better off with a trust that they helped you draw up. There...
