And if I took his advice on cleaning the unit his way I would have 12 inches of gunk built up at the bottom of the coils between the coils and the sheet metal since 2008. There is only one way to clean the type of unit I have correctly.
I've hear about those and that if you us one you better have mineral free water or they will destroy your coil in short time. And I would think keeping the coil wet would just cause the dust and dirt and other crap in the air to just plug it up more.
Good idea. I'll think about that. And yea it gets dirty that fast. I even go so far as to shut off the A/C when I mow the back yard to avoid all that dust getting pulled into it. 1/2 of the unit is under the eave of the house so it is somewhat shielded from rain.
Sorry but I have to disagree. It is necessary to strip the sheet metal off. Otherwise all the gunk collects at the bottom between the sheet metal and the coil The unit sits in a corner and 2 sides are difficult to get the screws out of the bottom of the unit. Yes I know restricting the airflow...
Getting it clean is no problem. Stripping all the sheet metal off and and back on and doing it correctly is a several hour job and just a pain. I'm trying to avoid doing it more than once a year. This would go on the outside of the unit, not directly up against the coils and would be easy to see...
Every year about this time I take all the sheet metal off the outside condensing unit and give the condenser coils a thorough cleaning. Every year when i do it the outside of the coils are covered with crap in just 1 years time. I'm thinking about wrapping the outside of the unit with some...
Having to go to Walmart at 7:00 am because they were letting only seniors in 2 hours early and being able to buy 1 package of toilet paper. A Walmart employee standing at one end of the TP aisle not allowing access to the aisle on that end and checking when you left that aisle that you only had...
I was working at the AT&T Manufacturing plant on Reno and Council. I had just come inside from taking a smoke break and was sitting at my desk when I heard the boom and it shook just a little. I remember thinking that was thunder but then I remembered it was a clear sky when I was outside just a...
When I went to OSU in 1973 in state resident tuition was $14/credit hour. You would typically take 15 credit hours per semester so 120 credit hours in 4 years for a degree. Total cost of the tuition would have been $1680. The other cost of going there was room and board and books was way more...
If you want rear end gears changed I know the guy that did them at Gary's Differential for years. When Gary closed his shop he continued doing them out of a shop at his house. He is around S 27th and Shields area in OKC.
Pretty sure he is talking about the first gear transmission ratio not the rear end. Some manual transmissions in trucks can have a really low first gear called a granny gear. I would check with Blumenthals and see if they know what might be available for a transmission gear swap.
