What Is Your Longest Solo Road Trip?

Got one (or call it two) within the next few months. At some point next month, we head out to do our Summer job in Oregon and will need to drive from the Tulsa area to Salem, OR to start with to certify the work van with Oregon's DOT. That is around 2000 miles, and after we finish the work up...

    Swords Anonymous

We simply called these items "weed whackers," but the one on the right was the best of the bunch to use because the metal blade on it was much heavier and thus easier to sharpen.

    Four Legged Friends

This is not necessarily "one of my four legged friends" as I don't own any of them, but these cuties caught my attention a few years back down east of Austin, TX.

If one ever goes to perusing photo websites, there are some iconic images that show up on multiple sites because photographers can go out of their way to take pictures of certain subjects. Such subjects as Horseshoe Bend near Page, AZ and Multnomah Falls along the Columbia River in Oregon are...

Public Service Announcement: DO NOT travel internationally without THOROUGHLY searching your property first!

Back around 2016 or 2017, the wife was flying back to Oklahoma from Oregon so she could serve as a "home nurse" for our son that just had surgery. (He's not married, thus, no in home nurse of his own.) At the airport in Medford, I was getting concerned because they kept going through the...

Public Service Announcement: DO NOT travel internationally without THOROUGHLY searching your property first!

The same can be said when crossing state lines here in the U.S. Folks in states back east have run into issues with having firearms in their vehicles. Also, if going to Canada, it is a good idea to search for anything firearm related. I remember a case of a couple in an RV got their RV...

I thought Medicare Advantage plans were only for folks over 65. If so, CHenry's commercial is stating differently.

Somewhere on the Chickasaw National Recreation Area near Sulphur, OK. While we stayed at an RV park in that area, we hiked a number of trails in Sulphur and other places around, including Lake of the Arbuckles. I just don't remember if this was on the lake or some other pond in the area.

    No Mow May 😎

In typical OSA fashion, I must say that I'm sorry that you are in California. I'm not even sure seeing lots of Monarchs would make it a pleasant experience.

    “Show Ignored Content”

I'm of the same mind with no one on ignore, but if it would make you feel better, I might would put you there. Otherwise, just go through life with the thought that I did, even if I didn't.

A scene at the site of the Minidoka Japanese Internment Camp up near Twin Falls, Idaho. When we visited the site, I was somewhat overwhelmed with the site of the fence around the camp. In my farming/ranching days, I built a lot of temporary fences for the containment of cattle, but a fence to...

I had a number of uncles on my dad's side that served WWII in the Navy. In all the family get-togethers that we had for holidays and birthdays, I can not say that I ever heard them talk about their service during WWII.

    Any HVAC Techs Here?

While we were working in Oregon for a retreat and reunion center, we had an A/C issue at one of the lodges. Called out the technicians and they cleared out a whole lot of ants. So I went and got some Spectracide Bug Stop and periodically sprayed around the outside units. I still do that with...

Alleged would-be transgender school shooter sought elementary children “because little kids make easier targets”

With regards to the topic of mass shooters being mentally deficient, I would have to guess that people thinking they should be the opposite sex might just fit into that category.

An amenity at Coachlight RV park south of Carthage, MO. This was taken while we were attending our first ever RV rally, which was for the brand of RV that we own. In spite of all that I had learned about the brand while researching RV's, I still learned a lot at the rally.

    Covid Lockdown

For all of 2020, the wife and I seldom ever wore a mask. About the only times we did was when we were working our Summer jobs and had to check into a hotel and when they had a notice on the door. Otherwise, when we came and went from the same hotels, we didn't wear them and no one ever said...
