Silver solder will melt at around 1250-1500 deg F (depending on alloy) and will typically flow at 10-50 degrees above melting temp. Depending on your barrel temper, this may or may not effect your barrel. You will definitely have to refinish your barrel and flash hider.
I just picked up a Colt Commando Spec. .38 in a recent trade. From what I can tell, it is a parkerized version of the Detective Special made in the mid 80s. I can't find much info on the web. Any idea of the value? Any info is appreciated.
Thanks for clearing it up. Do the prints have to be detailed and the parts exactly to match, or is there room for adjustments? I want the can to be optimized, and I don't think I'm going to get everything exactly right on the first try.
I have a engineering/machining background and would like to turn some of my ideas to life. In order to make my own can, I understand I need a stamp, but do I also need a class III manufacturer's license?
I bought a PX4 as soon as they came out, and planned to do the same with the subcompact...until I held one. It was practically the same gun, only a little shorter and with a tilt barrel. Its too wide for a subcompact.
