Been looking for quite some time
Finally found one... 1959 Remington Nylon 66 in Seneca Green
marked Pat Pending Remington 22 L.R. only PF5 on barrel

asked if that was green when I was purchasing. seller replied No, that's brown.
turns out it's Seneca or OD green which has lots of brown.
was not very popular and only made in 1959 & 1960.

seems to be in decent condition ... now to shoot it
pic's soon ...

Even if Remington claims its green it definitely looks brown in those pics.

Neat Looking gun none the less. Only made for two years so I guess they are collectible/valuable?

Not to bag on your great find but that lever Nylon is a lot cooler, IMO. Congrats on the Seneca though, I know they can be tough to find in good shape. I have the Brazilian knock off nylon and it has been a great little gun. It was my first 22 got it for Christmas from Mom & Dad many moons ago. Once I did some research and found out that the first rifle was the Remmy, I thought I'd pick one up but a lot of folks love them and those that are selling them are typically a little proud of them. I still think I'll get a black Remmy or one of the lever guns before it's all said and done.

Like I said - congrats on the find for sure, I look for them everywhere I go and the little green ones are few and far between.

Wow CY. That's a nice pair of Nylons. We had one in the family (grandpas, uncles, cousins, someone) back in the day. I don't know where it eventually found a home. I wish I had it now.

sure wish that nylon lever was mine .... sorry about not being more clear.
just borrowed the pic to show color difference between Seneca green and brown.

just happy to score the Seneca 66 ... wonder if anyone has tried a scope?
a buddy was telling me scopes don't do well on these nylon rifles....

I found out that you do not bother scoping a nylon 66. I bought a brown one in approx 1972 or '73 and tried to scope it. Long story short, it did not work. I have shot it ever since with the existing sights. Still shoots great. I bought it new from TG&Y Co. Does anyone remember that Company????
