Hey wal mart employess, you are miserable by choice. If you dont like your job, find another. After my trip to wal mart this morning I said enough, I want a manager. I got a CSM, whatever postion that is and let loose. I hated to be that guy, but when you are not greeted by anyone in that store, even at checkout, with the only words are the total due, WTF? Sam Walton would roll over in his grave if he saw what that company is turning into. The attitudes of most of the employees in that store suck, not all, there are a few that will say high to you, but they are the exception and not the rule.

Seriously the moral in that store is -100%, I have never been in a store with that kind of moral before, never.

I have had employees there turn their backs on me and walk away after I asked them for help, really? WTF? the curse of living in a small town, ya I have options, at least a 40 mile drive one way.

I saw a bumper sticker once. "walmart low wages, low morale. Always". Just remember the beatings will continue untill the moral improves.

I thinks it's "morale". But, you're pretty much right on, except it's not just WalMart. There are, of course, exceptions. Some employees just don't let this happen to themselves and some managers don't let it happen to their stores.

I remember the story that went around many years ago when Sam was still alive. Seems he went into a store in-cognito and asked an employee where some product was. The employee pointed in the general direction of it's location and basically said, "it's on aisle 13". Sam proceeds to escort the employee to the store manager and fires them both. His philosophy was that you took the customer to the product.

That kind of action gets results. Unfortunately, it has to be reinforced every once in a while.

the management at walmart treats their employees like crap. Ask me how I know as a former walmart employee. I always tried my best to help a customer but if the lead or whoever doesnt order enough fryer chickens and the store is out, dont blame me and take it out on me and curse me out over a freaking chicken.

I hear ya...

I dropped by the local Arby's drive-thru for a nice little roast beef goodness the other day and literally the ONLY words spoken by the derilect at the window were the numbers of the total amount I owed. Nothing else... no please, no thank you, no have a effin' nice day, no nothing.

Get used to it. The dumb keep getting dumber and they procreate at a faster rate. Idiocracy is coming true.

I don't know about EVERY Wal-Mart manager. But the ones I had back in High-Schools were d!cks. One time I asked an assistant where the department head in housewares was. His response was "I don't know, It's not my day to keep track of him". A couple of days later he asked me where the store manager was and I responded "I don't know, It's not my day to keep track of him". He immediately called manager and tried to get me written up/fired. I told the manager that I responded that way because it was how he had responded to me previously. They tried to make it out to be all me, but I told them if they are going to respond to their emplyees that way they shouldn't act butthurt when their employees reply in the same manner. I was not fired or written up and the assistant NEVER spoke to me again. What a little B!TCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ah well.... it is ancient history now, and I still spend my money there. I don't care if the people greet me or not. I don't have time to endulge in a conversation anyway. I want to pay for my stuff and get out.

Well from a guy who works retail, and who likes it, you get out of it what you put into it.
No one forced them to work there, they went to wal mart seeking a job, wal mart did not knock them over the head hog tie em and drag them into the building.
They knew the pay when they hired on, not enough for their liking, then go seek employemt elsewhere or start your own business.
I dont ever go off on anyone when the store is out of something, it happens, I find something else, and move on. But for customer service, eye contact, smile, how can I help you today? Are you finding everything ok? Great have a nice day and thank you for shopping with us.
Really does work wonders in this world.
