I have a box 20 Winchester Black Talon. 180 grain sxt ammo.

Does anyone know anything about this ammo?
Looks like they don't make it anymore and it looks to be pretty pricey?

- It was a great defense round when it came out

- It's not made anymore, but there are much better defense loads nowadays

- It's a perfect case study of media sensationalism

- It was never coated with teflon, nor was it ever made specifically illegal

If it were by box I'd keep it as a curiosity. Some people will pay exorbitant amounts for a box of it, but other than the collector value (which I really don't understand; lots of ammo isn't made anymore) it has no use considering the other SD ammo available now.

Keep it in your safe, don't put it in your SD gun. Good Lord I can see the head-lines now....GunCrazed homeowner shoots poor helpless intruder with "BLACK TALON AMMO" Regular ammo wouldn't do for this blood thirsty homeowner, he had to use ammo that is so bad it was taken off the market. Sorry just had to get that out, I have a box of 10mm.

I had some in various calibers several years ago after the big blow out about black talons and they were taken off the market. I sold them and wish I had more if someone would pay me now what they did then.
I suppose as a novelty or possible collector item they may be worth saving.
