So I am looking at powders for my 45 Auto reloading and my Hornday book says I can use Longshot powder to reload 45 Auto but on the front of the Longshot bottle it says that it is shotgun powder. Do I have the right stuff? Is there more than one kind of "Longshot" powder?

Actually, I've noticed it seems there are a fair amount of them that are. IIRC, blue dot, red dot, clays, among others, are all used in shotguns also.

I've used Unique for shotgun and in loading .45ACP.
I've used unique in several loadings, 38, 9mm,45 colt, and 16ga. I read some where recently, that unique was the most versatile powder made. I realize, thats a broad statement, and can't remember where I read it. Nice thing about losing your memory is, You can't remember who your supposed to be mad at.
