That's the place to go. Just be carefull when filling out any forms or payment info.
They will deny your purchase or attempt to levy a "fine" to allow the transaction to proceed.

Gotcha, I shop there or browse there looking for replacement parts for the H1. I got a replacement hood there about a year ago.

On another note. I am glad you started this thread. I was going to author one because I am looking for a bobbed deuce and was going to see if anyone here had one or considerable experience with one.

If you've never bought from government liquidations it can be a hassle, plus your really don't know what your getting, some locations like Ft Sill won't let you drive off base it has to be towed/hauled off. Also some places like Ft Sill won't allow reviews either, other places won't help with loading. Plus there is end-use required paperwork that has to be just right or they keep sending it back. It's funny how they hold us to such high standards, but there own standards are so much lower!!! Ok maybe not that funny...

The bobbed deuces are awesome. IMO, much more practical unless you are towing or hauling real heavy loads. If you can't bob the deuce yourself it looks like Easternsurplus.net will do it for $3500 or you can buy the kit yourself and do it.

I do not want to hijack this thread but www.boyceequipment.com has some of the best ones I have seen.

Great information here. I can't find any thing on the OK DOT about private ownership requirements, special licenses for non-commercial use and driving. Thoughts?

Here's 2 pics of mine...I call it my farm truck...

[Broken External Image]

[Broken External Image]

I've done a little extra work to mine...added the LED headlights, sandblasted the entire thing down to bare metal and primed it...built a 2" receiver hitch, added EGT and boost gauges, brand new tubes in all the tires, replaced brake switch assembly to new style, had the seats recovered with black marine vinyl...done some other things too...I'd like to make the bed dump, but havent had time to mess with it....

I drive it alot more than most people think...I've drove it to the farigrounds for a gunshow, out to Firelake Casino all the time and valet park it...grocery store alot...

I'd try to get one off the government liquidation sites if you can, just be prepared as it seems like there is always something wrong with them when you get to pick it up...dead batteries and non working brakes seem to be the most common issues...

If you dont use GL and you buy from one of these dealer guys, everything is extra money....hard top....winch....heater....artic kit....bigger tires....air transfer case...the list goes on...

Pretty much any info can be found on steelsoldiers.com

The thought has crossed my mind about selling mine, but Im not sure if I could get what I want out of it...When I got my truck, I conversed back and forth with 100DollarMan in California and he said he would've gotten $9k for it before all the stuff I've done, although I dont have anywhere near that in it I was happy with the deal I got...

2.5 tons don't need a CDL...they don't actually have air brakes. I think the 5 tons have air brakes which I think you'd need an endorsement for, although I never checked into the 5 ton stuff much...Check with your insurance company. I know some wont even insure them. Mine is insured through State Farm...
