I put a Streamlight TLR-1 on my G23 that I plan to carry. I transport cars for a living and find myself unloading at dealerships after midnight frequently and decided a tac light was something I wanted. I ran into the dreaded Glock .40/tac light ftf problem and I have 11 coil mag springs on the way to hopefully resolve the problem, but it lowered my confidence in my EDC gun, so I was thinking of getting a Ruger LCR or similar to carry on my ankle as a BUG. Any thoughts?
I probably will if the mag springs don't fix the issue. I'm curious if I swap to a 9mm barrel and mags if that would fix the problem also.
That's a good question, if its the frame that's failing...probably not.
I'd scrap the light for hand held, maybe put it on a different gun?
I guess my next step is to wait for the mag springs to come in and head to the range. I'm still interested in carrying a Ruger LCR or similar as a BUG or when my G23 isn't as easy to conceal.
I to carry a G-23(without a light), and a S&W 640ND as a bug. I usually only do this when going out of town, just to have a secondary firearm with me. Around town I figure my G-23 with two spare mags will see me through the day.
Well I just put the 11 coil springs in my mags and ran 100 rds through them without a single ftf. Looks like it fixed the issue. I'll put some more through them as I have $$$ and time. Still waiting on my ccl so I can't carry yet anyway.
