Howdy shooters,

I am happy to announce another Appleseed rifle marksmanship clinic at the new and improved Camo Corner gun range and surplus shop in Stillwater, OK on March 28-29, 2015.

Project Appleseed is an all-volunteer nationwide organization that is dedicated to keeping our country's revolutionary heritage alive by holding weekend marksmanship clinics, where the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship are taught, along with some history from the Revolutionary War that every American should know.

At Project Appleseed, we believe there is a big difference between a rifle owner and a Rifleman (with a capital "R"). We believe there are plenty of the former in this country, but not near enough of the latter. Our marksmanship curriculum is designed around the goal of teaching every American the marksmanship skills necessary to hit man-sized targets out to 500 yards from field positions with any center fire rifle -- the level of skill that defines "Riflemen" for us.

Our marksmanship curriculum focuses strongly on the fundamentals -- therefore most shooting is done at 25m. This allows us to do a lot of shooting, and allows the use of any rifle, including .22 LRs, for most of the course. We use 25m Army Qualification Tests to measure the skill of our shooters. Anyone who shoots to 'Expert' standards on this test is awarded our prestigious Rifleman's patch. Though the AQT course of fire is is geared primarily toward military-pattern rifles that load quickly from a box magazine or a clip, you may use any safe rifle at Project Appleseed. Whatever you bring, we will teach you to be a better shooter with it. Appleseed is not an equipment race. To get the most out of the course however, we do recommend your rifle be fitted with an adjustable 2-point sling, since sling-supported shooting is heavily emphasized throughout the course. Cost for the course is $60. Discounts are available for certain categories of shooters. Appleseed will benefit you regardless of your skill level or what type of shooting you do. It will make you a better target shooter, hunter, competitor, or defender of life and liberty.

Some of the things you can expect to learn at an Appleseed are:

- Steady hold factors for the four basic field positions
- The use of the sling as a marksmanship aid
- The Six Steps to Firing the Shot
- Proper trigger control
- How to tighten your groups by using the Natural Point of Aim technique
- Rapid and efficient zeroing using the Inches/Minutes/Clicks technique
- How to maintain a high volume of precision fire using Rifleman's Cadence
- Rapid and efficient position transitions and target transitions
- The amazing true story of the Battle of Lexington and Concord, and how marksmanship impacted our nation's history

And much more.

Throwing in a plug for Hensch and crew... I attended this event last year, and it was certainly worth it. I've shot rifles all my life, and was impressed at how effective the relatively simple techniques they teach are. I have definitely enjoyed my improved shooting this past year!

Thanks poke!

Several guys couldn't connect at the 500 yard stage at the Run 'n Gun, but came back and cleaned it after taking one of these courses. This stuff really works! If you haven't ever mastered the use of the sling as a marksmanship aid, you will be VERY familiar with it by the end of the weekend. It is a good tool to have in your toolbox.

Well .. I signed the wife, one son and I up for this .. finally. Went to one a couple years ago and loved it. Just haven't been able to make it work out since.

Anybody familiar with the venue know if there will be room to park an RV during the day?
