The establishment Republicans were never against these immigration/amnesty changes. This is how they paid back the US Chamber of Commerce for the campaign support. Only the Tea Party and true conservatives were against this and they have little power these days. Oh, and the citizenry was against it, but who cares what they want.

It's not over yet.

The Senate is mulling passing a clean bill, then sending it over to the House where it can be passed with amendments. Then it will go back to the Senate and Harry "Blackeyed" Reid can't filibuster it. That way it only requires 51 votes to pass. This kind of scheming is the only redeeming value McConnell has, he's brilliant at it. Lets see if the House caves which is very possible with "Boner".
