Here is a link to the report.

If you have no bias, or a bias anywhere left of the Grand Dragon of the KKK, and read this report you should be outraged. The Ferguson PD systematically targeted blacks and violated their Constitutional rights with impunity. If the Ferguson PD targeted gun owners the way they did blacks and subjected them to similar abuses this board would be crashed with the rage posts. Instead we get a collective, meh. Either you believe in the protections the Constitution affords every citizen, unilaterally, or you do not. There is no middle ground.

I haven't read the full report and it may be some time before I do, but aren't you assuming there is "no bias" on the part of the report creators?

FWIW, I have little doubt that there was systemic abuse and bias in the Ferguson PD. They certainly haven't done anything to disabuse anyone of that notion since the shooting. But if you believe Holder when he said DoJ had no pre-conceived notions upon entering Ferguson, I have a bridge to sell you. :(

Maybe the citizens were right but there are other ways to deal with it besides rioting. Otherwise you had an interesting point, anybody know why the last department officer Wilson worked for was disbanded and all the officers fired? (aside from the racial allegations)

You know, maybe there wasn't another way to deal with it. After years and years of abuse by public servants the citizens rose up against what they viewed as tyranny. The truly unfortunate side effect of the riots is that private citizens and business owners were hurt.

On this forum, we all the time talk about rising up against our government for one reason or another, the citizens of Ferguson actually did it.

They didn't riot against the police force or oppression by the government or they would have attacked city hall an the police station, but they didn't.
The destroyed their own neighborhood.
That's not protesting.

By now I'd think the politicians and Liberals would have figured out that if more people had jobs and brought home an income that crime would be reduced. It is common sense that if a guy is tired from working all day and has to get up at 0600 the next morning an ego to work, he isn't going to be out at all hours shooting people and robbing little old ladies. The money spent on entitlements over the years could have built several factories and more-all producing a myriad of jobs. Put 'em to work and they'll pay taxes, increase the productivity of this nation and so on. It's kind of like The Keystone Pipeline thousands of jobs would be created not only on the pipeline but ancillary jobs like trucking, parts etc etc. We've got to get this nation back on the highroad again.

Every damn city in the nation does this. Not to just blacks, but to fill their coffers.

It is simply forced taxation.

Who knows for sure all the truth in the report, it they were indeed targeting a specific race, they should all be replaced and serve jail time. The Constitution covers every color of skin.

But some contend when part of the fines go directly to judge/police pension funds as well as salaries there's a conflict of interest.

What happened at officer Wilson's former department gives us clues about what else can be done and what else needs to be done.

They did, a couple of windows were broke and then it was made clear what would and would not be protected. Below are pics of city hall and the police/courts buildings, if just half of the personnel were moved to the places looted like the liquor store, QT, etc. where no officers/guardsmen were damages could have been avoided.

Actually only a few criminals rioted. The citizens just protested. There is a big difference between lawful protesters and rioters.

In Ferguson the cops were pointing guns, gassing, harassing, intimidating and arresting protesters while the rioters n looters committed crimes.
