Exactly. That story seems to be slowly being shot full of holes - have been watching it on a few different forums.

But everyone wants so bad for him to be a Muslim they can hardly stand it. My how we've been conditioned.

Within 24 hours drudge and breibart will be carrying headlines that say

"German co-pilot was a Muslim convert?"

And then it will be repeated endlessly on the interwebz and become Troof.

I'm not sure it's about wanting him to be a convert to Islam as opposed to be searching for some kind of reasonable answers.

An apparently successful, intelligent young german decides to fly a airliner full of people into the ground one morning.

In similar circumstances, when nothing seems to make sense, it appears that radicalism via jihd, is raising its head in several of the cases.

Perhaps it has some bearing?:
