Sounds like the typical airhead lib city official(s) trying to be the big fish in the little pond. When you read this article, please notice that the airhead city politician has gone from calling the M-16 an assault rifle to now calling it a MACHINE GUN! :pissed::madbox::censored:

Fallen soldier monument stirs controversy in Milford

"I don't think it needs to be a center point of our Central Park," Aubry said. "The boots, the machine gun, the helmet; I understand it should be there somewhere, but I don't think it should be right in the middle of the park."

Doesn't surprise me coming from Yankee land.

I think that, "Doesn't surprise me coming from lib-socialist "Anti 2nd Amendment" land might be just a little bit more descriptive and a heck of a lot more accurate way to say it. And you can throw in TonyKane1's anti American(anti Constitution & anti Bill of Rights) too. :wink2::naughty::rollingla:rollingla

If the gun was automatic, doesn't that technically make it an assault rifle/machine gun? They did say M16, right?

I honestly don't know what to say other than that disgusts me.

Meh, plenty of Patriots up there. It's a crappy article making more of the issue than there is, considering the proposal wasn't rejected.

"There was some concern from a couple of members regarding the specific memorial that's proposed". A couple of members. It's also important to note that the additional funding for the memorial was raised locally.

I bet you could find just as many crackpot liberals on Oklahoma City's Council.
