Senate republicans give Obama new powers, but they are still classified.

All we can do is guess as to what is in it. It supposedly a trade agreement, it's confidential. That what my gripe is. Since when do we pass law via a star chamber process.

Apparently big business wants this badly enough to use mega-leverage to encapsulate it and hide the odoriferous contents. It's quite the deal and if the impact is what people are fearing, there will be repercussions. I can't help but think that Obamacare has emboldened the political class to disregard the electorate to a new, unheard of extent.

Nafta, Gatt, MFN - this is just another stepping stone on our path to a third-world economy. The Rs will get it done, and keep blaming job losses on unions. More of the same.

From listening to some of the debates on the floor of congress, it seems jobs is the biggest issue for the democrats. Their complaint is that every trade deal(in recent history) promises American jobs and job security but none of them have delivered on the promise and most trade agreements lean towards pushing imports and not exports enough. The counter argument is that each time we have made a trade agreement our GDP and the countries we made agreements with have both gone up greater than those who didn't participate.
