Been posted before but bears posting again.

And again ... what if an atheist is against same sex marriages? Is that comparable to Islamic terrorism?

People can be against something and it does not have to be entirely or even in part about religious beliefs. And people still should have the right to oppose something for whatever the reason without being compared to terrorists.

Nobody says you can't oppose gay marriage. Just that as a matter of public policy, equal protection under the law trumps any argument against it religious or otherwise. But you have to admit most opponents to gay marriage do so with a strong religious tilt. The meme just highlights the position of "because God said so" is the same reasoning as middle eastern theocrats.

We are talking coulda, shoulda, woulda. Can you lay forth the argument from said atheist. I'm probably closer to an atheist than anyone in this thread, so I'm curious as to the reasoning.

:saywhat:

Try telling this to the Christians in North Korea. Maybe if there was actual persecution in this country, there wouldn't be so many lukewarm people that identify as being Christian. Unfortunately, if Christians in this country were being martyred like the apostles and members of the early church I think the numbers would be much less.

Why would an atheist be against gay marriage? Homosexuality is only immoral in the eyes of religion.
