The kids have been after me for years to get a dog and I finally caved in. Cutest Chihuahua ever. Just got him Monday and he is 8 weeks old but funny how the kids want him and I'm the one getting up with him ever few hours. Think I got suckered!
We did that a year ago and decided no more puppies for us.

Puppies can be a challenge. Fortunately for me my wife is like a helicopter mom to dogs, so she takes charge when "duties" come around. I just get to train and pet them. 
Sadly there will probably be no more puppy's in the house. I recently retired, and the wife will in a couple of years, so if we want to get our traveling in, the dogs we have will be the last.
