I went by Walmart today to grab some ammo and was told they will no longer offer ARs. I wonder if that's all stores or just the locals?
Interesting, I suppose it's a recent trend since it seems about a month ago I saw a few ARs for sale, I was reading another thread that was discussing Ruger Minis at Walmart, I guess those are going too?
A while back I heard of clearance prices on ar15's, and was looking to pick up a Colt 6920 for cheap. I did some calling around and both of the Wal-Mart's in Edmond told me that they were out and wouldn't be getting any more.

Profits have dropped to a point here the AR-15 market was no longer viable, perhaps. Walmart counts beans with the best of 'em.
A Savage factory rep told me once that the factory makes less than $100 on each rifle sold. Its a highly competitive market with not a huge margin of profit if that's true.
The firearms trade is like many others--money is made by selling lots of product at relatively low margins.
