How often do you pay too much for a gun?

I have a tendency to overpay for a gun mostly on impulse buys, every now and then i get lucky and get a good price. Overpaid for a S&W 642 a few months ago.

Those don't grow on trees and they're not makin em anymore! Beautiful piece. I have the four inch nickel with all the docs and the box it was shipped in from the factory. It will never leave my collection.

LOL. That's gonna be the title of my autobiography.

But if it's something you've always wanted, then go for it.

I've only been really disappointed in one gun that I'd always wanted. A stainless PPK/s in .380. All steel gun was like a brick, kicked like hell (for the caliber) and ran fine...when well oiled.
