These are my thoughts on reducing mass shootings. We return to pre GCA of 1968 gun restrictions, reopen the mental health facilities we had at that time, empty the prisons of non-violent drug users, then imprison or institutionalize violent criminals until they are no longer a threat to us.

Cliff notes version of this:
1.Shooter's photo was lightened to make him appear much less black than he is.
2. Shooter was sympathetic to Black Lives Matter and similar groups "all of which carry a sentiment of favorability and ideological alignment with Islam" - this is consistent with his targeting of Christians. Further, one foreign source reported him to be on a list of Islamic radicals or sympathizers.
3. Shooter was not a hard core loner because he was involved in producing an upcoming play on the same college campus
Items 2 and 3 have been hidden through changes in social media and deletions from other sources.

Provocative assertions. But hard to verify. I see that some sources are claiming that his name on the Black Lives Matter site was photoshopped. Much of the changes can be seen as the college or other groups just cleaning up things to make themselves look better.

IMO the only way to cut down on events like this without limiting people's rights is to allow and encourage more people to be prepared to defend themselves in more places.

A couple of media stories pointed out that the police arrived quickly in 6 minutes; that's an eternity when something like this is going on.

Of course it doesn't help when we see stories like we've had in the last year or so with a teacher's gun going off in the bathroom, and a professor's pocket pistol going off in class.

At least they didn't follow Columbines example where police stood outside waiting on SWAT while students and teachers were being shot inside.

Everyone is so focused on stopping these things from happening. The fact is these are extremely rare and random events. Prevention is a worthy goal but an unobtainable one. The best strategy is to mitigate the damage when one of these extremely rare and random acts of violence occur. If these guys are getting cut down after just a few shots, then the fantasy of power no longer exists for them. Not to mention the fact that you will hear crickets from the news media anytime a mass shooting is stopped by armed resistance. You take away the fame and fish in a barrel and this crap will happen less and less.

But this isn't going to happen. Gun busters will continue their idiotic expansion and gun grabbers will crow until something gets passed that won't help the situation at all. The solution is plain to see but that makes it that much more invisible to the powers that be. Even OK sucks a$$ in regards to gun free zones and restricted rights for CC. It's not just a blue state problem.

Correct, and If one does a little research, you can find out that after these mass shootings occur, LEO that researches their social media history almost always said the shooter had visited sites about past mass school shootings. They use social media to see how easy it will be and want to go out in a blaze of glory. Probably the first time in their tormented lives that they did something right in their own minds.

Okay, so the shooter supposedly had some variant of an AR pattern rifle and five handguns. Who the F@^# lugs around five handguns?
