It sucks when you buy a fairly cheap motorcycle, (2013 DRZ 400S) last year as a leftover model and the renewal on registration costs ($94) almost as much as my insurance on the bike. Yeh, I know waaaa. :censored:

At least the insurance is cheap. I got quotes for full coverage and it would have been $700 a year with $1000 deductible. I only paid ~$2500 for the bike.

My vehicles all have been 10 years old or older and tags are like 22 or24 bucks.
Keep it long enough and you can have cheap ones.

Ouch, you must have a spotty driving history. Ive never paid more than 200 for full coverage for a bike. But then my bikes have been 10ish years old.

No moving violations in over 3 years. Bike is an '07 Ninja so that doesn't help. I pay $220 for liability only. I think my insurance is probably just screwing me. I'll shop around next year when it's time to renew.

Those sport bikes are high dollar to insure. I'm thinking of getting a touring/adventure type bike next year in the 1000cc+ range. I'm sure something like the KTM 1190 is expensive to insure....I'm may have to stick with my present bike.

I had a '71 Buick Riviera GS that only cost $20 some dollars to tag.

I remember getting a few quotes years ago, and they were drastically different. When asked why the premiums are so high, they answered that its a 600cc Ninja sport bike. Then the other company I called was really cheap so I asked why, they answered, well its only a 600cc bike.

Costing me around $380 per year for full coverage on my new KTM adventure and also my 1700 Roadstar. I'd say shop around for insurance...
