A while ago I posted in the hunting & fishing section about what the best caliber would be for a youth rifle. There were a lot of good responses but the most popular seemed to be a .243.
I was talking with my father the other day and he said he had a .243 that I could have. He brought it by today and it is a Savage Model 10 chambered in .243. Not a real expensive rifle but I think it will be perfect and work well for my 10 year old boy.
The rifle came with 1" weaver scope rings mounted on it. I would like to put some glass on it without breaking the bank.
I know nothing about scopes and am looking for recomenedations for a good scope, something a 10 year old could easily see through and use. It will be used primarily for Deer and maybe Turkey this fall.
I would love to have some recomendations as well as what I should be looking for in a scope. Again I am a newb with regards to scopes.
