I think im gonna break down and buy a kit and put it togather, the only problem I'm running into is the lower trigger pack. I don't want to do the class 3 thing, So how do I pin the lower or where can I get a pinned lower at a reasonable price ??? checked gunbroker to no avail

HKPro is going to be a good resource. Basically, you're going to cut out a notch where the sear pin hole is, and weld a plate in its place, and (IIRC) a shelf on the frame.

take a look here, these guys have a lot of good info on cetme and hk91
also if you build it from a reciever flat i have a fully machined following die to straighten it out.

Robert is GTG, and has most everything you'd need. If you look at the pics of the semi-auto control pack vs the surplus G3, you can see where the cut needs to be made.

Personally, I would get a "ready" receiver, as spot welding the G3 receiver, and having sight, shelf & cocking tube aligned would be a tad more complex than scrounging together an AK. If you're handy with a welder, that may be less of a concern.

JLD receivers are considered "IT," but ORF has an excellent rep as well:

AKs are cheaper and easier...

If you have significant time, and are pretty handy, a G3 kit would be fantastic. For a "starter", I'd pass.
