I have always heard that the big deer wont come to a feeder? last year when we were seeing the big buck on camera it was over corn poured on the ground. so i was thinking of doing that again and maybe bring some fresh apples every week??? just trying to figure a way to better my odds i have read about ll the c'mere deer and dont really belive in it from the reviews i have read. what do you guys think?

You might try putting out something different like sweet feed. We did that last year on a place we hunt. They really seemed to like it better than the corn.

This should put an end to this discussion.
This is my buddies stand......he was at the casino.
Unless somebody else killed it, the buck is still alive. It was rut. This is a 22 acre grass and wooded area in the middle of a section wheat fields. small plots can produce....you just have to be there every day...all day.

Yeah, its my place, and I let him hunt there...

My brother has been taking apples to his feeder for years.
Just gets them off the ground and spreads around his feeder.
Last year the camera caught a porcupine with an apple in his mouth.

Dennis, great looking bucks. A lot of guys over think deer hunting. At the end of the day, bucks are just animals that want to eat. Trust me, if you leave corn out long enough big deer will be there.

With that said, we've used apples in the past with good success. I think the real key to keep big bucks hanging around is consistent feeding. Once they know they can always get food in a certain location you will see them there more and more.

Yes deer love apples. I have seen deer stand up on their back legs and stretch to get apples of the tree. They don't have a lot nutritional value, but are more less like candy to them.

Use gallon ziplock bags and fill 'em half full of corn. Pour in cheap apple juice to cover the corn, push out the air, and zip the bag. Let it set overnight. Leave plenty of room, or it'll swell and burst the bag.

Put the corn in little piles. It'll work like apples, is cheaper, and easier to spread. Works great. Attracts deer, pigs, turkey, armadillos, etc. etc.

I haven't seen this anywhere, just figured it should work, and it did. CB
