Bison is excellent...even steaks. You can probably get some at your local meat store.
Nope, they are carnivores. Related to dogs, coons, weasels, cats, sea lions, and seals.

I'd pass on the bison burger... unless it's mixed with another meat, maybe? Bison is very very lean, kind of like venison. Therefore, IMO, it doesn't make a great burger. In fact, I had one once, in Boulder, CO. Restaurant called Turley's, the night my wife proposed (NYE 1999). The burger was HORRIBLE! The driest thing I've ever eaten... it was like... cardboard. Sawdust. Ugh. Too dry for a burger, IMO.
I've always heard the bison ribeyes are the bomb... never managed to find any at the local market, though. Going to have to try again this summer.
