10 - 300X telescope

Thanks Fyrtwuck for thumping me, Ya never know what will pop up here and where it will go. I have an old Cannon 35MM camera with a 200X telephoto lens.sitting in a bag on a shelf somewhere collecting dust and a tripod for holding it.. Until this moment I had never thought of using it as a spotting scope. Thanks for mentioning that.

I have no idea what it would take to adapt it to a phone, but if you have a compatible lens already, I’d think that the lens would be the most expensive part.

I have everything out ready to go, but have not had a chance to get out. I think it will work well.
