I’m going to guess that the P/W 16” barrel is actually a true 16” OAL, where the 16” barrel is actually 16” + length of muzzle device.

My guess is that 10.5" setup is for people who don't want good ballistics, reliability, and want to beat up the rifle every time they pull the trigger. I can't make sense of why they would do that either. I can understand a 13.7 or 14.5 with a suppressor host muzzle device, as while it may be 16", it will reduce the length of the setup when a suppressor is mounted when compared to a 16” barrel with the same mount and can.

I can't say I am surprised, after all, this is from the same guys who made this $2000 abomination.

Looks like it’s for the guys who wanna play operator 🤣

I went and did a 11.5” sbr years ago, it’s actually my go to AR and shoots incredibly well out to 150 (that’s as far as I’ve shot it) I do also have a couple in the 13.7-13.9 range that are P&W for the legal reasons and they are awesome with a can.

the xm177 had a long muzzle device. but i think better wisdom applied gave reason to just lengthen the barrel to M4 specs eventually. i can see the reason though for shorter if a can is in use. but in my mind they are both tools but for different uses.
