1911 Guiderod

How about a poll to see who likes what kind of guiderod in their 1911’s.

Full length, just to make it harder for the kids to get apart!!

I prefer GI, because as DH pointed out, it makes take down easier.

But, I don't care so much I'm going to replace the full length rod in my E series.

Basically, I'll just run what came with the gun, unless it seems to cause trouble.

I had a FLGR on my first 1911. Now I have a standard GI guide rod. Much better now!!

I have heard the 'ol times swear by FLGR in their wad guns and I guess there may be something to their insistence on their use, BUT with proper link and bushing to barrel fit, a good slide to frame fit and a decent trigger I will shoot anything.

I use a sharpened 6” flgr on my colt defender as a stand off device.

I use the G.I.setup.
John moses browning designed it that way and I beleive he knew what he was doing, K.I.S.S.. I have never had a problem using the G.I. setup.
