I swapped my FLGR with a GI on my Springer...easier to take down and you can rack it with your boot if need be from the front.

I have GI and FLGR...some of the FLGRs are two piece. The all shoot good and I'm not bothered about how any of them come apart.

I changed my full length in my Kimber out for a GI style and shot the local IDPA match today. I had one bobble/malfunction but I’m not sure that it could be attributed to the guide rod. More of a failure to eject, but it could have just been a weaker load. I’ll have to run it some more to see if it happens again, but I think it was the Colt mag. No problems with the Chip McCormick mags. Anyway, GI style for now..
