Wanting to build a 1911 from scratch, I've got a few parts and I have a frame sourced. I am looking for a source for a lower frame kit anyone have any leads on where something like that can be reasonably obtained??

Thanks in advance
Rusty

Unless your wanting completely GI style I wouldn't waste the money on a kit. Nobody's going to have a kit with all the different makers goodies in it. You will end up buying most items separate. Most of what comes in a kit is usually poorer quality and you will end up replacing springs, sear, etc. with better parts.

Look up fosters or caspian

This. I've heard mixed reviews on the Sarco (holes improperly located, etc.). If you're not an experienced 1911 tuner, you don't need those headaches. Caspian is good to go, and Foster is Caspian's contract-overrun/cosmetic blem line.

Also, get the Kuhnhausen books. You'll thank yourself later.
