You can have up to $1800 in parts and finishing alone without labor. You can have anywhere from 15 to 40 hours in labor in a "quality " 1911. When I said that the category of pistol you were looking at was a "cheap" one ...it is a cheap 1911! I didn't say you were cheap and I didn't imply you were cheap. However, you have done a spectacular job of putting yourself in that category without my help and trying to pass it off as me slandering a whole category of 1911 gun owners -ROFLMAO.

In your first post you stated that you wanted quality and accuracy first and cost and resale second ...nice if you can find it but not easy to find within your budget. You could not grasp why the Ruger was $600-700 and the Springfield was $800 to $1000. Makes perfect sense if you know that the Ruger is investment casting and the Springfield is a forging. Later in the thread you said that "you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear" ...well I've done it with a RIA and the customer had $950 plus the cost of the base pistol in it, and without a match barrel . If you do the quick math, and if you know the approximate real world costs of the RIA and a match barrel with installation you are at $1900. So tell me ...How am I insulting you when I suggest a DW for $1870 retail with all the best parts in the pistol? And, you get to shoot it from day one without having to wait 6 months to get your pistol back from a custom 1911'smith. If you wait and save up for the better pistol you get your quality, accuracy, and better resale.

Then you turn around and want to have a shooting contest to prove that you and your "equipment" are better. I am going to treat myself and borrow a quote from Glocktogo..."Dude" ....you need to grow up. And when I say grow up it has nothing to do with shooting skills ...it's how your brain works and the chip on your shoulder. If you can't afford it and /or don't want to save up for that level of quality just say "sorry that's not for me." To have you rant just because I suggested a better quality of pistol for you is absolutely bizarre.

BJG
