One is a 39A lever action and the other is a bolt gun that is .22 WMR.

I was not looking to buy a gun but right place at the right time.
What ammo do you guys like in the .22 WMR?

I am going to look for some Hornady V-max stuff.

If I know Jeff, he picked it up for a couple bars of ‘Mary had a little lamb’!

Dead Uncle deal gifted everything to buddies Niece. She likes money better than guns and tools.
It looks decent and is not wiggly anywhere.
Smells terrible as does the gun case they stuffed the rifles in.
    Cigarettes! Pew Wee.
Blueing looks decent ..I really have not looked at it well but it is 1965 and micro groove barrel.
I really do not care much for a 22 rifle as I used to .

When my kids were young and went with us to the wife's grandparents farm in Missouri the .22 was used quite often.
Kids grown and I still have ammo from before the shortage days.
555 count boxes that I paid 18 bucks for.

I will go shoot them and see if they work or not and try to get the smell off of them.
    Pics tomorrow possibly.

Check the auto section at Walmart. They have an odor eliminator for cigarettes. Set it off in the car with the AC on high. It worked like a champ in my MIL’s car. Wonder if you could use it somehow?

    I shot the .22 39A today .
I dropped 2 rounds of Long rifle down the tube not thinking much would happen.
When I cycled the lever the ammo cycled right up into the chamber without a hitch.. super smooth.
Aimed, Pulled the trigger and a nice little shot went off I cycled the next round and it was glass smooth right into the chamber.
It ejected the spent case just a slick as it loaded.
    WOW this thing is sweet.

Never seen or heard of them before yesterday.
    Marlin Golden 39A Mountie.
I assume it is a 20" barrel as I measured it roughly.

I thought the blueing was excellent on it but not a fact.
It is the Marlin 783 that is a little slicker but it is 1981 make.

I'm jealous! I would love to have a 39A Mountie but at the prices they go for there is just never any room in the gun budget for one.

Put a few rounds through her for me!

I know the feeling I would love a 338 Lapua. But that isn't happening unless I sell a bunch of guns I really do not need.
Maybe I need to do that.
