I went to raised beds about 3 years ago and haven't looked back. I have 4 raised beds 4'x8'. I made these with 8' landscape timbers stacked 4 high. It vastly cuts down on time needed to maintain the beds. I mulch each bed after planting. I have beds with: 4 varieties of peppers in one, 3 varieties of tomatoes in another, okra, and 2 types of squash. I had all my tomatoes burn last year but this year has been much better. The peppers and okra are doing great. The squash is still holding on but the heat has taken its toil. I'm gonna try a rig up a shade for the tomatoes to get them through this heat. I'm gonna try a fall garden as some have spoken of. I would love some tips on what and when to plant these crops.
