2016 Deer Harvest Pics

This guy surprised me at 0700 this morning. 25 yd shot with a pawnshop-find sporterized Mauser in 257 Roberts. I used a 117 gr hornady sst +p. He ran about 50 yds and went down in some of the nastiest, gnarliest scrub brush and deadfall. Had to clear a path with the tractor to get him out. I guess his way of getting some payback.

Used Hornady Superperformance in 270 because I was out of reloaded ammo
Took a coupe de grace to the neck at close range though.

Wow! You guys are knocking em down! I am way behind so I will just say congrats to all of you who have punched a tag. Great stuff! I've hunted 8 of the 9 days of gun season with my brother, on 3 different farms that are all good ground with good bucks on cam, it has been a long slow slog so far. We have killed a couple doe and my brother shot a nasty old sow pig but no shooter bucks seen. 7 days left!
