What's the secret for bank or dock fishing for crappie, if there is one (or 3)? Trying to get my little boy on some fish but we're striking out. I got one tiny smallmouth on a jig the other day but other than that, nada.
Caught some yesterday fairly close to the banks and 11 this morning. Nothing big. Flyrod for the win.
Paratus....from the bank this time of year look for rip rap. 1/16 or 1/8 oz roadrunners are my go to crappie lure. White, chartreuse, or a combo seem to work well. I like the ones with a plastic curl tail grub.
Anyone fishing Grand Lake?
I tried my spring crappie spots on Grand a little on Sat. Didn’t catch any. The day before we went to Cabbage Hollow and caught a lot of sandbass and a few crappie.
