It's been a minute since I've been on Okshooters, I was Brian89 previously and had some password/email issues so I re-registered.
I've been scrolling through this thread looking at all the great bucks everyone harvested this past season. I thought I'd contribute and share my family's 2022 success. (pic heavy)
My 14 year old shot this buck at Pushmataha's early youth hunt. It was 85 degrees and windy on this hunt. Pure luck getting this one.. He was 1 of 3 bucks killed on this hunt. He drew Push in 2021 and shot a very nice 8 point.
I shot this buck the week after my son, he was my target buck on this particular place. One good cold front got him on his feet for a 19 yard shot with my bow.
Two weeks later I went on my controlled hunt to Sequoyah NWR and tagged out on the second to the last day. Also shot a nice hog.
Thanksgiving day my daughter and I were watching the Macy's parade and my Covert started sending me pics mid day of a nice 8 point. I showed her the pics and she said lets go get him tonight! Half an hour before dark he shows up and she makes a perfect shot on him, we got to watch him fall 30 yards from the blind.
December 1st the buck I've been after for 3 seasons made a mistake and chased the last hot doe out that morning. This was my first daylight encounter with him. I shot him at 125 yards with my 6.5 CM hand loads. He ran 60 yards and piled up. I've never been more emotional after shooting a buck. I've hunted hours and hours for this guy. I know of 5-6 other guys hunting him within 2 miles of me. It was really an honor to get him. I took him to rack madness in OKC, he taped out at 172-5/8" gross, net 162-3/8".
I didn't waste any time getting this guy mounted up.

Stopped in KS on the way to my OK place to see family. This monster buck was harvested with a crossbow by my sister-in-law’s husband on his land in Kansas. Was 24 point and was officially scored @230 0/8 inches B&C. It is mounted with one of its sheds from 2021.
