I was having a discussion on another forum. Some folks didn't see the 22lr shortage coming.

    Just curious.

How many of you guys have felt the shortage and quit/limited your plinking?
How many of you guys stocked up and are good to go for a while?

I have about 8K on hand. However, I'm only shooting it as I can replace it. I learned my lesson the last time. :(

Is it possible to feel good to go, but not want to plink any of it?

Got maybe 14,000 rounds, most of which was aquired in July, August and Septemper of 2012.

Feel like i have enough for an emergency, but not enough to go plinken around.

I started a buy two shoot one then repeat program a few years back.
Nothing worst than seeing my G'kids wanting to plink and not having any.

I'm way ahead on .22 longrifle. Learned that in 2009. I'm short on a few rifle calibers that I actually use.
    On balance, No worries.

I'm running low. I have about 1300 with about 7300 or more on order. No clue when I'll get it... I'll save mine for .22 steel challenge matches should last 2 months :/ Hope I stumble on some bulk packs at Walmart

Yeah some of us have been thru the no 22lr thing a time or two.
You know I've been lucky and never really got caught without any.

I did just give a bulk pack to a friend so his kids could plink. Probably don't have enough to day that everyday.

I have enough for now, but if I can find some more CCI MiniMag's I will be buying them.

Not to hijack, but what would be the bare minimum you guys would be willing to accept, and still feel comfortable with shooting from time to time?

So if one decided 5K is his minimum, and he has 7k...

The issue I'm having is getting enough for the my classes. The majority of my students shoot .22 lr when they qualify. I've always had a significant quantity of .22 around, but I'm using my stash for these classes. I started teaching SDA to benefit the gun and ammo stash, not the other way around! F-ing politicians...
