It was a slow news day, and a local reporter was driving the back roads hoping something would turn up. He saw a farmer repairing fence, and noticed there was a fair-sized hog following him around like a puppy. But the animal was missing a hind leg. Curious, he stopped and struck up a conversation with the farmer, and after a few minutes asked him about the pig. The farmer replied, "Yeah... that's ol' Hammy, and you wouldn't believe what a good hog he's been. When our youngest was a toddler and ran out into traffic, ol' Hammy was the first one to reach him, and dragged him back into the yard." The reporter said, "That's amazing, but what happened to his leg?" The farmer continued, "Another time, both boys were boating out in the pond and the oldest fell overboard. Ol' Hammy swam to the rescue and dragged him out of the water. Like I said, he's a really good hog." The reporter said, "Wow, that's incredible! But what happened to his leg?" Again, the farmer continued, "In fact, Ol' Hammy saved the whole family when our house caught fire one night. He started squealin' and made such a ruckus that it woke us all up, and we were able to put out the fire with very little damage. I'm telling you, that's a really good hog." The reporter, obviously a little frustrated, said, "Yes, I know he's a good hog. BUT WHAT HAPPENED TO HIS LEG?" "Oh," replied the farmer, "well, a really good hog like that... you wouldn't want to eat him all at once." :drunk2:
