I was concerned that the No-Go could be compromised, but two known rifles I have still do not close on the No-Go gauge. I’m definitely going to have to try a Field gauge. I sure hope dude didn’t send the reamer too far.
The easiest way is to get a properly sized casing and place scotch tape over head until it the bolt begins to bind. Remove tape in one piece and measure thickness.
Even easier using this method with a go or nogo gauge. Does take some math skills. If I still have 06 gauges I might sell them as I've sold my lathe and all my reamers. Had 65 different ones.
Barrel passed the Field gauge and didn’t even think about closing, so it’s within tolerance, albeit a little longer than I had hope for being a new barrel installation.
